Everything you need to know before you arrive
We've collected the most common questions from our guests. If you can't find what you're looking for, contact us:
Phone support: 10:00–21:00. Check-in: 14:00–21:00. The hostel closes at 21:00 with no exceptions — arrivals after 21:00 without prior agreement will not be accepted. Once you've checked in, you'll receive keys to come and go as you please. Most Sundays we're closed, but if you arrive Saturday you can stay through Sunday without issue. We're open most holidays except Aug 14–16, Dec 15 and Jan 1.
Check-in is from 14:00 to 21:00. If you arrive before 14:00 we can store your luggage at reception. During low occupancy we may offer early access to the room, but it's not guaranteed. Check-out is at 11:00. After check-out we can also store your luggage for the day (except Sundays) — just let us know. If you arrive after 21:00 we cannot receive you under any circumstances.
Under Royal Decree 933/2021, all guests aged 14 and over must present a valid official photo ID: national ID card (DNI), passport, NIE, TIE or EU driving licence. Expired, damaged, illegible documents or those sent by email or WhatsApp are not accepted. Each guest must show their own ID — the booker's ID alone is not enough. To speed up the process, we recommend using Chekin online before arrival: you'll receive a link to photograph your document and submit the required data. If you complete Chekin online, you only need to show at least one registered ID upon arrival. Otherwise, all guests must present their physical document at check-in.
The hostel is on the 3rd floor of a building with 2 lifts. There are no steps at the entrance or to access the rooms. You can check photos and videos of the rooms in our gallery to see whether the space and dimensions suit your needs. If you have any questions, contact us and we'll assess your specific case — we can recommend the most suitable room.
The hostel has no private parking, but several options are very close. Parking Plaza Constitución (3 min walk, €1.45/h, €14.70/day, open 24h) is the nearest. Parking Plaza de la Marina Española (5 min, book online at Empark) is another option. For free parking, the Train Station (2 km, bus L3) offers 24h free parking. Right outside there's an ORA (blue) zone at €0.35/30min, max 3h. Although it's a pedestrian zone, the City Council allows vehicle access for guests via Calle San Miguel to drop luggage.
The train station and bus station are next to each other on Avenida de las Tres Cruces, about 2 km from the hostel. Your options: taxi (5–7 min, approx. €6–8), urban bus Line 3 (El Acercame, €0.95) — get off at the "Mercado" stop, 5 min walk from the hostel — or on foot in about 25–30 min. The train station has free 24h parking and left-luggage facilities.
The main taxi cooperative is Radio Taxi Zamora (tel. 980 531 515). You can also find taxis at the rank outside the train station or at the main city squares. The fare from the train station to the hostel is approx. €6–8, taking about 5–7 minutes. Taxis are the most comfortable option if you arrive at night or with heavy luggage.
IFEZA (Instituto Ferial de Zamora — Zamora's trade fair and events venue) is about 4–5 km from the hostel. You can get there by urban bus Line 5 (El Acercame, €0.95) from stops in the historic centre — check the official route for the nearest stop — by taxi (approx. 10 min, €8–10) or by car. Important tip: during major events and concerts, organisers often run free shuttle buses (lanzaderas) from Zamora city centre to IFEZA and back. Always check the event website or IFEZA's site before travelling so you don't miss the free service. Popular events at IFEZA include: Fromago (International Cheese Fair, every spring), Conciertos Zeta (large-scale rock and pop concerts), SIFER (International Railway Fair, alternate years), food & agriculture fairs, job fairs and many more throughout the year.
We don't serve breakfast at the hostel, but there are several cafés and bakeries very close by. Our recommendation is Bar Restaurante Padornelo, less than a 2-minute walk from the hostel entrance. It opens Monday–Friday at 10:00 and serves quality breakfasts at good prices. There are other options in the area if you prefer variety.
Yes, we are pet friendly! Pets are welcome with a €7/night surcharge per animal. You can pay the surcharge directly on our website as an extra service during the booking process. Please note that pets must always be accompanied by a human — they cannot be left alone in the room, the hostel, the car or anywhere else. If this rule is not respected, the pet cannot stay and the booking may be cancelled with a penalty.
No, this is not a pet hotel. Animals must always be accompanied by a human at all times. They cannot be left alone in the room, the hostel, the car or anywhere else. If this rule is not respected, the pet cannot be accommodated and the guest will be offered the option to cancel the booking with a penalty for failing to follow house rules.
Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the hostel, including all rooms. The password is provided at check-in and is also available at reception. Speed exceeds 50mbps in most rooms, more than enough for browsing, email, streaming video and video calls. We've tested the connection with several people working simultaneously with no speed or stability issues. If you need to work remotely, it's a great option. Quality may vary slightly depending on your location within the hostel and the number of connected devices, but overall performance is excellent.
Yes, all rooms have air conditioning and also heating. It's a modern, efficient system designed to provide a comfortable environment year-round, regardless of outdoor weather. You can adjust the temperature to your preference. If you have any questions about how to use it, reception staff will be happy to help.
Balcony rooms have a 32-inch flat-screen TV, and some are Smart TVs if you prefer to log into your streaming platforms. Non-balcony rooms have an 18-inch TV (not Smart TV), but you can connect external devices via the HDMI port to watch content from a laptop or mobile device.
The hostel is on the 3rd floor, so two keys are needed to access the room hallway (one for the building, one for the hostel door). Hallways have security cameras. Each room has its own lock, and we recommend guests always check their door is closed both when entering and leaving.
No, the rooms don't have a fridge, coffee maker or microwave. However, there are several supermarkets very close to the hostel where you can buy what you need. Reception can also give you recommendations if you need something specific.
The hostel doesn't have its own laundry service, but there are several self-service laundromats nearby. The closest is on Calle San Torcuato, less than a 5-minute walk, with high-capacity washing and drying machines and detergents available for purchase. Towel, sheet and bed linen cleaning is included in the room price and is done regularly. If you need an extra change of linen or towels during your stay, just ask at reception.
Yes, we offer daily cleaning service to keep your room clean and comfortable. There is no cleaning service on Sundays. If you're staying Saturday, you can enjoy the room all Sunday with no issue, as check-out is at 11:00 on Monday. If you need anything extra during your stay, just let us know.
Yes, we have hair dryers and clothes irons available on request at reception, at no extra cost. You can ask for them anytime we're at reception. When you're done, simply leave them in the room and we'll collect them during cleaning. It's a free service for all guests.
All rooms include: complete bed linen (sheets, blankets, pillows, duvet), towels (1 or 2 per guest depending on room type and stay length), basic furniture (bed, nightstands, wardrobe or clothes rack with hangers, desk or work table, chair), and a private bathroom with tumbler, hand soap, shower gel and toilet paper. Hair dryer and iron are available on request at no extra cost. There is no fridge, coffee maker or microwave in the rooms.
Yes, hot water is available all day. In some rooms it may take a moment to arrive, but you should have hot water within 5 minutes at most. If you have any issues with hot water during your stay, please contact us and we'll resolve it as soon as possible.
We are a budget hostel with the lowest prices in central Zamora. Rates vary by season and room type (single, double, with balcony). Weekends and public holidays may be slightly higher due to increased demand. We offer discounts for long stays (from 11 nights, automatic 10% off) and for groups. We always recommend booking through our website, where prices are much cheaper than on Booking, Expedia or other portals. You can check updated prices for your specific dates on our booking page.
Yes, from 11 nights onwards you get an automatic 10% discount on the total price. The discount applies to non-refundable rates. If it doesn't work correctly on the website, contact us and we'll apply it manually. We also offer group discounts — if you're travelling with friends or family, ask us.
Yes, we accept major credit and debit cards: Visa, MasterCard, American Express and others. We also accept cash payments and bank transfers if arranged more than a week in advance. We do not accept cheques.
Yes, available on request for €25/night. You can add an extra bed during the booking process on our website by selecting 3 adults, or contact us to add one to an existing reservation. We have 3 foldaway beds in total, so availability is limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Maximum 1 foldaway bed per room. For large groups, we recommend booking multiple rooms.
We're open most public holidays, except August 14–16, December 15 and January 1. Most Sundays we're closed, but if you arrive on Saturday you can stay through Sunday and subsequent days without issue, since check-out is at 11:00 on your departure day. If you have questions about a specific date, contact us.
Check-in hours are 14:00–21:00 and the hostel closes at 21:00 with no exceptions. It's not possible to check in after 21:00 under any circumstances. However, once you've checked in within the hours, you'll receive a set of keys (building, hostel and room) so you can come and go 24 hours a day.
The hostel has new windows and blinds installed in 2026 that significantly improve soundproofing from the outside. However, inter-room insulation is basic, so some rooms may be noisier than others depending on location. If you prefer a quiet room, let us know when booking or during check-in and we'll do our best to assign a suitable one. If noise becomes an issue during your stay, we can move you to another room if available, or provide earplugs.
First, call our phone number: +34 980 533 152. Sometimes we have commitments away from reception or are attending other calls or guests. Important: make a regular phone call — we don't accept WhatsApp calls. If you still can't reach anyone, wait a few minutes and try again. Our reception hours are 10:00–21:00.
Check you have the right number: +34 980 533 152. Sometimes we have many simultaneous calls and can't answer them all. Try again in about 10 minutes. You can also contact us by email at hostalsol@outlook.com or WhatsApp at +34 639 980 253. Important: we don't accept WhatsApp calls — use a regular phone call.
If you're already inside the hostel (you have the keys and are inside) and have a serious emergency like a water leak, electrical issue or any situation requiring immediate attention, contact our emergency team using the phone number provided at check-in. You need to call 4 times in a row for the staff to hear it. We apologise for the inconvenience and recommend reporting any issues during our reception hours (10:00–21:00). If the problem is very urgent and you can't wait, seek assistance at a nearby safe location (shop or café) and try again after a few minutes.
If the date you're looking for is within the next 2-3 months, it's likely fully booked. Check the website from time to time in case of cancellations. We don't currently have a general waiting list. If it's a Sunday, you can try calling — some Sundays we may make exceptions. For further dates, availability may not be open yet; check the website or contact us. We sometimes create a waitlist for high-demand dates like Easter or the Zetta concerts.
We currently only accept prepaid bookings through our website. We cannot take phone-only bookings without payment. We recommend booking directly on our website, where you'll also get the best guaranteed price. If you're having trouble with the online booking engine, call us at +34 980 533 152 or +34 639 980 253 and we'll guide you through the process.
We need the following: full name, phone number, email address, a postal address and payment details. Upon arrival, all guests aged 14 and over must present a valid ID document (national ID, passport, NIE, TIE or EU driving licence) as required by Royal Decree 933/2021. Each guest must show their own document — not just the booking holder.
If you've made a booking and don't receive the confirmation email, contact us by phone, email or WhatsApp so we can check everything is correct. There may have been a technical issue and the booking may not have been saved. We recommend contacting us as soon as possible to avoid availability problems. Also check your spam or junk folder in case the email ended up there.
Yes — let us know by message, WhatsApp or phone and we'll do our best to reserve it for you. We can't always guarantee a specific room, but we'll try our best based on availability. The earlier you let us know, the more likely we can accommodate your request. You can also indicate preferences like floor level, quiet room, etc.
Free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before arrival, provided your rate allows it (some non-refundable rates don't permit cancellation). To cancel, use the link in your booking confirmation email or log into your account on our website. Refunds are processed through the same payment method used for the booking and usually take 5–15 business days depending on your payment method and financial institution. If you booked through another website (Booking, Expedia, etc.), you must manage the cancellation through that platform following their policies.
You can request an invoice from the last day of your stay up to 30 days after check-out. When making the booking, make sure to fill in all required invoice fields (name or company name, tax ID/VAT number, tax address). If a specific field isn't available in the form, use the comments box. The invoice will be sent by email as a PDF. We cannot issue invoices outside the 30-day window after check-out.
If you think you left something at the hostel, contact us as soon as possible. We keep found items for 30 days. After that, unclaimed items are thrown away or recycled. If you need the item sent to another address, contact us and we will prepare it for collection — note that the hostel is on the 3rd floor and someone will need to come up to collect it. We do not arrange or pay for shipping; you must contact a courier or delivery company yourself.
Our prices are usually the lowest in central Zamora. If you think there's an error in the price, send us an email and we'll review it. We also understand that our facilities are basic and some guests may want more quality by paying more — if you're not satisfied, you can look for other accommodation in Zamora. For long stays (11+ nights) we offer an automatic 10% discount. Our recommendation is always to book through our website, where we offer the cheapest prices — much lower than on Booking, Expedia or other portals.
You can contact us by phone at +34 980 533 152, by WhatsApp at +34 639 980 253, or by email at hostalsol@outlook.com. If you write to us and haven't heard back within 3 days, please contact us again in case the message was lost. Our phone support hours are 10:00–21:00. We don't accept WhatsApp calls — only regular phone calls.
Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the hostel, including rooms, windows, terraces and common areas. Violations result in a fine of €100–€1,000 for cleaning and deodorising the room. Lighting fires, using candles or incense is also not permitted on the premises.
Yes, we recommend storing it in your room as long as it's clean (no mud or dirt that could stain). We recommend contacting us in advance so we can assign you a larger room if possible. There are 2 somewhat small lifts, but you can carry them up the stairs to the 3rd floor if the bike is large. Additionally, some guests have left their bicycles in the entrance hall under their own responsibility.
The hostel staff speaks Spanish only. If you need to communicate in another language, send us a message via WhatsApp or email and we will use online translators to assist you. When you arrive, connect to the hostel's free WiFi and use any online translator directly from your phone — Google Translate, DeepL and Bing Translator all work well.
We do not recommend it. The safest approach is for each guest to book under their own name so all required details (full name and phone number) are correctly registered. If you do book for another person, leave a comment in the reservation with their full name and phone number, and make sure that person completes the online check-in with their own details. The reservation code alone is not enough — we need to verify that the person arriving is authorised to use the booking. Screenshots are not accepted as proof of reservation, as we cannot verify their authenticity. If we have any doubts, we will call the reservation holder directly to confirm. We take the security of all our guests and their belongings very seriously.
Private bathroom, wifi (password and more instructions on the paper on the back of the door), a desktop and a chair, radiator (with automatic controls), air conditioner with remote, tv with remote, hair dryer and iron on request, armchair, window, bed including the sheets. In the bathroom you will find basic soap, shampoo and hand soap, and towels. If you need anything else, let us know.

If the confirmation email hasn't arrived in 2 minutes and isn't in your spam or junk folder, the reservation is not confirmed. It's possible that a payment attempt was made and the money is temporarily blocked by your bank, but the payment was not completed and the reservation is not guaranteed. Additionally, some cards require explicitly accepting foreign payments or allowing non-secure payments in your banking app, depending on the situation. Please check that you have sufficient balance or try using different cards. If you still have problems, please contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone call.
