Since 2023, Hostal Sol has been run by a family with more than 50 years of experience in hospitality. We've been through change, inexperience and fear. After plenty of effort and work — and a pandemic that brought everything to a halt — we've moved the hostel forward, giving our home everything it deserved and learning from every guest who's stayed with us.
When the rooms were empty, we got to work renovating. We painted and redesigned each room into a Nordic-minimalist style, where rest, closeness and comfort are the core values.

We're lucky to be in an incredible spot: smack in the centre of Zamora, between the two main streets, and a 3-minute walk from Plaza Mayor and the historic old town. You can enjoy the city's history and culture on foot, without ever needing the car. Bars, restaurants and parking are nearby too — without losing the quiet of a small street.
Pensión Padornelo · Hostal Sol
Our story begins in 1975, when the family opened Pensión Padornelo on Calle Aire in Zamora. For many years that family guesthouse was a reference point for travellers arriving in the city.
Over time, Hostal Sol was born on Calle Benavente, alongside the Restaurante Padornelo, a tribute to the original name. Over 50 years of hospitality back every stay.
